SUMMARY

The different outlooks of the British and Americans impacted their relationship— the drift between them growing. The Boston Massacre gave colonists another reason to revolt for their independence. Their rights and even their lives were at risk, with no other option but to fight back. The same reasoning applied to the British; they were losing their colony which served as an economic connection.

The event was portrayed from two very different perspectives because neither British nor American citizens wanted to be at fault. In order to protect their authority over the colonies, the British were faced with a dilemma— result to violence or attempt to compromise. Ultimately their course of action with violent tendencies led to the American Revolution.

Biases also come into play because a country would not support or justify its enemies’ actions. In the end, the British soldiers were convicted, however, from reading about the Boston Massacre from an unbiased point of view, the two accounts are contradicting. The communication of both newspapers from both sides shows how false or misleading information can spread based on who is expressing the idea.
